The Urban Redesign Project

The Urban Redesign project will enhance the look of Station Road East and West, making the town centre a more attractive place for shoppers and visitors.

The brainchild of the Love Oxted Business Improvement District and supported by Tandridge District Council, Surrey County Council and Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership, this project will help support existing businesses and encourage new ones.

These conceptual designs, prepared for the Oxted BID by designers Greer Pritchard, include proposals for a market square, improved town centre layout, better access, more greenery, more seating and more attractive paving and surfacing.

Consultation

Thank you to all those who took part in our first consultation, which closed on 23rd June. In total, 388 responses were received from local residents, businesses and visitors, identifying some of the top priorities of people living locally. 82% of people want to see trees and greenery in the town centre, 81% of people want more attractive paving and surfacing and 77% of people want to see an improved link from Station Road West to Master Park, so it is safer for pedestrians.
